Description

Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel in Jaisalmer. Have a light breakfast and prepare for a full day of exploration. Wear comfortable clothing and bring sun protection. First, visit Jaisalmer Fort, the only living fort in India, built in 1156 AD. Wander through narrow lanes lined with homes, shops, and temples. See key spots inside the fort, including the Raj Mahal (Royal Palace), Jain Temples (12th–15th century), and fort viewpoints for panoramic photos. Next, walk to the nearby Patwon Ki Haveli, a group of five richly decorated mansions. Continue to Salim Singh Ki Haveli and Nathmal Ki Haveli, showcasing intricate Rajasthani architecture and stonework. Enjoy a peaceful walk or boat ride at Gadisar Lake. See temples, chhatris, and migratory birds around the lake. Take a short break from the city bustle. Head to a traditional Rajasthani restaurant for lunch. Try recommended dishes like Dal Baati Churma, Ker Sangri, Laal Maas, or Gatte Ki Sabzi. After lunch, visit Bada Bagh or Vyas Chhatri. See royal cenotaphs with domed pavilions and desert views at Bada Bagh, or visit Vyas Chhatri, a peaceful sunset point with cenotaphs dedicated to sage Vyas. Next, explore Kuldhara Abandoned Village, a ghost village about 18 km from Jaisalmer. Walk through centuries-old ruins and learn the local legend of the vanished villagers. Drive to Sam or Khuri Dunes for a camel or jeep safari. Watch the sunset over the desert — a breathtaking experience. Enjoy optional Rajasthani folk dance, music, and tea/snacks at a desert camp. Return to your hotel or prepare for onward travel. Optionally, have dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the fort.
