Description
Day 1: Delhi to Ajmer and Pushkar Your journey begins from Delhi in a comfortable, private air-conditioned car with a professional driver and a knowledgeable guide. As you drive through the changing landscapes of Rajasthan, you’ll get a sense of the region’s vibrant culture and history. Upon arrival in Ajmer, the tour begins with a visit to the city’s most iconic landmark – the Ajmer Sharif Dargah. This revered Sufi shrine is dedicated to the great saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti and draws pilgrims of all faiths from across the country. The atmosphere here is deeply spiritual, with qawwalis (Sufi devotional songs) often heard echoing through the complex. Next, proceed to Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra, a fascinating mosque built on the remnants of a Sanskrit college. The structure showcases a blend of Indo-Islamic architecture with intricately carved pillars and calligraphy, reflecting centuries of artistic heritage. From here, visit the tranquil Ana Sagar Lake, a man-made lake dating back to the 12th century. This serene spot provides a peaceful contrast to the bustling lanes of the city, making it an ideal place to pause and reflect. Afterward, enjoy a walk through the old streets and markets of Ajmer. You can explore local food stalls, pick up souvenirs, or simply soak in the local vibe. If time allows, the guide may also take you to view some colonial-era buildings or lesser-known temples that reflect the city’s diverse heritage. In the evening, drive toward Pushkar, a short distance away, where you’ll check into your hotel. You can choose to stay either in Ajmer or Pushkar, depending on your preferences for accommodation and ambiance. Day 2: Pushkar Sightseeing – Sacred Temples, Holy Lake, and Return to Delhi Begin the day with a guided exploration of Pushkar, a town known for its deep spiritual significance and colorful culture. The first stop is the famous Brahma Temple, believed to be one of the very few temples in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma, the Hindu creator god. The temple is made of marble and stone, and holds immense significance for pilgrims and spiritual seekers. Next, visit the Pushkar Lake, a sacred water body surrounded by more than 50 bathing ghats and hundreds of small temples. According to Hindu mythology, the lake was formed when a lotus flower dropped from Lord Brahma’s hand. Devotees come here to take a holy dip, especially during religious festivals. The view of the lake and its surrounding ghats provides a deeply calming and spiritual experience. Your guide will then take you through the vibrant Pushkar Bazaar, known for its handicrafts, textiles, silver jewelry, and traditional Rajasthani souvenirs. It’s also a great place to taste local snacks or try a traditional Rajasthani thali. Return journey to Delhi in your private car. En route, you may stop for refreshments or photography if desired. Arrive back in Delhi by late evening, completing your memorable 2-day trip to Ajmer and Pushkar.Includes
