Description
We will pick you up from your hotel lobby in New Delhi and will drive you to Agra via Yamuna Express Way. On arrival in Agra tour guide will meet you and will assist you on your Agra trip.
We visit the Taj Mahal, which was commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1631 to be built in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, a Persian princess who died on 17 June that year giving birth to their 14th child, Gauhara Begum. Construction started in 1632, and the mausoleum was completed in 1643, while the surrounding buildings and garden were finished five years later. The imperial court documenting Shah Jahan's grief after the death of Mumtaz Mahal illustrates the love story held as the inspiration for the Taj Mahal.
We visit Agra Fort, a historical fort in the city of Agra, India. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638 when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. Before capture by the British, the last Indian rulers to have occupied it were the Marathas.
We visit the tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, a Mughal mausoleum in the city of Agra. Often described as a 'jewel box', sometimes called the 'Baby Taj', the tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah is often regarded as a draft of the Taj Mahal.
After visiting the Baby Taj, proceed to a restaurant for lunch.
After completing your sightseeing, you will drive back to Delhi, where our chauffeur will transfer you to your hotel or the airport.
